Harlem’s storied Riverton complex celebrated 75 years with a Family Day that drew hundreds of its residents for BBQ, music, inflatable rides and family-friendly entertainment this afternoon.

The annual party was hosted by the Riverton Tenants Association and sponsored by A&E Real Estate, which has managed Riverton since 2015.

The festival was held in the Riverton Square courtyard and residents were joined by State Senator Cordell Clare.

“Riverton is such a close-knit community. Sponsoring Family Day is a wonderful way we can bring neighbors together. From our youngest kids to our seniors, events like this build new memories and remind us all why this community is so special. We’re thrilled to partner with the Riverton Tenants Association in Harlem to make this year’s Family Day the best ever!” said Wendy Abels Eisenberg, Co-Founder of A&E Real Estate.

“For 75 years, Riverton has been a community that embodies family, culture, community, and heritage. As we celebrate our 75th Anniversary, we need to recognize these pillars in our annual family day festival. Our Tenants Association has been planning this event for months. Unfortunately, it was postponed for two years due to the pandemic. However, our families are excited to come out for a day of music, games, food, and community togetherness. This year’s family day also looks to bring awareness to gun violence in our community and hopes to decrease the number of shootings involving our youth. I want to thank the RTA Executive Board, A&E, tenant volunteers, and residents of the Riverton community for making this event possible,” said Jacqueline Spellen, President of the Riverton Tenants Association.
